Le catalogue Gilles-Faller de 1928 donnne l'explication du nom "Mixte". Il s'agit d'une chambre suffisamment rigide (grâce à l'amélioration Huillard) pour être utilisée aussi bien en extérieur qu'en atelier.
Elle est construite en noyer et était vendu sans obturateur, ni objectif.
